Geopark Guide Accreditation System

With a view to maintaining the standard of geotours and the international image of Hong Kong Geopark, the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong (TIC) has established a Geopark Guide Accreditation System to raise the professional standards of geopark guides in Hong Kong. Geopark guides accredited by the TIC are called Accredited Geopark Guides (A2Gs), they can provide tourists with the highest quality and professional geopark guided tour services.

Applicants of A2G must have R2G qualifications, hold a valid tourist guide licence and a valid first aid certificate, and have accumulated a certain amount of geopark guiding experience (including some conducted in a foreign language or Putonghua). Successful applicants must complete a training course co-organised by TIC and Hong Kong Geopark, and pass the qualification exam before they can become an A2G recognised by TIC. A2Gs are subject to re-evaluation every three years to renew their qualifications.
